Pan Tilt Camera Gimbal V1

 

This is one of the earliest versions of my home brewed motion control pan tilt camera gimbals using stepper motors. I really enjoyed working on this project. From creating the GUI for the controlling application (created in Flash) to design the mounts. My goal was to create an inexpensive, simple yet expandable platform to experiment with, testing motors, programing, gui designs and other elements of the project. This extremely flexible design allowed for rapid modifications and practically unlimited configurations.

  • Two Bi Polar Stepper Motors.
  • Slotted aluminum stock for the structure.
  • Custom milled aluminum hardware (pillow blocks, motors mounts, etc).
  • Timing belt driven.
  • Make Controller Kit (via USB, Ethernet or WiFi).
  • Flash interface
